I just wanted to say a massive thank you for ALL the help and support, guidance and patience you have given Evie during our/her time with you.
Evie has gone to South Hunsley a totally different person; the shy girl whom you met over 3 years ago, I no longer know her!! The girl who struggled to keep up and felt she had to hide her dyslexia from many people for quite a while, well she is no longer here! I now have a confident young lady who has no problem standing up for herself and says “I feel like one of them”
The teachers have said she is a “trier” she will have a go, and she does get there. She takes slightly longer but more importantly understands what she is doing and is not embarrassed to ask if she does quite get it.
This is all down to you Sue, the support and patience you give, and I am right to assume not just with my little girl but with all your pupils?! When things were hard for her and she wanted to give up, you wouldn’t let her, you found another way to encourage her and to make her understand, and the times table?! Well we are still working on them BUT it’s much, much better.
I cannot begin to thank you Sue. Without the extra lessons which Evie had she certainly wouldn’t be where she is today, both mentally and educationally.
We wish you all the best and as Evie said she would never forget you and neither will I.
Harry had completed the Lexia Core 5 at school but unfortunately the school could not offer any more support. A friend recommend Sue and we turned to her to tutor our son Harry when he was in Years 5 and 6, I am pleased to say that it has been one of the best decisions we have made.
Over the course of her sessions we have seen a material improvement in Harry’s academic achievements and his confidence and understanding of phonics and blending improved dramatically. We believe this is attributable to the time that Sue has spent each week with Harry. Sue makes the sessions interesting and fun and Harry looked forward to his sessions every week
Sue is very knowledgeable about the subject matter of school curriculum and dyslexia techniques. Any child would benefit from her guidance, patience and support. I would certainly make no hesitation in recommending Sue as the preferred tutor to any parent who is looking to provide the best assistance and quality to support their child.
Sue is worth her weight in gold, every primary school should have at least one Sue, we cannot thank her enough. Not just for helping Harry academically but for the way she has nurtured and encouraged him. Harry will miss his sessions with Sue, but she has paved the way for a bright future.
“Yvette and I could write an awfully long testimonial for Sue and her abilities in helping our son Edward with his severe dyslexia but in summary Sue has been superb in helping Edward over two years in achieving where he needs to be academically but also ensuring Edward is a happy and confident child. Yvette and I unreservedly would recommend Sue to any parents whose child is in similar circumstances. Sue really is a Top Dog Tutor.
“I can't recommend Sue highly enough. She was absolutely fantastic with my son. Sue was very professional but at the same time managed to develop a close relationship with him which enabled my son to flourish. I would not hesitate to advise anyone to use Top Dog Tutoring.”
"Words cannot express how grateful we are to you for the work you are doing with Isaac. He has come on in leaps and bounds and feels much more confident at school as a result of that progress. He looks forward to the day that he has his tutoring lessons and I don't think many children can say that! He loves his sessions with you as you obviously tap into what works for him so he enjoys learning. What's more I genuinely feel you want him to do better, be confident and generally happy. I couldn't ask for anything more and really value your opinion on issues that may arise with him."
“I really enjoy going to Sue because she is kind and fun. We play activities and games and we laugh at funny things together!”
“Top Dog Tutoring with Sue Lyon is the best money we have ever spent. Not only is my daughter learning quickly and enjoying doing so but her confidence in her school work has dramatically increased already, after just one half term. In my daughter’s words, “I wish I could go to Sue every day. I love learning with her and can’t wait to get back.”
“Having lessons with Sue has made a huge difference to my daughter’s confidence both at home and school. She has made progress and benefits hugely from Sue’s vast knowledge, first - hand experience and understanding of dyslexia. We would both highly recommend Top Dog Tutoring to anyone who needs extra support.”
“My daughter has attended sessions with Sue for over a year. Sue has helped her to gain confidence in and out of class. We have a great partnership between parents / child / teacher and school. If E is struggling in one area, Sue will pay attention to that. Her knowledge and experience are invaluable. E. finds Sue’s lessons fun. She makes E feel at ease. I would highly recommend Sue to anyone who was thinking of extra tuition for their child.
“I really enjoy your lessons. I enjoy beating you in our games. You make learning fun.
“We were delighted with the way in which Sue conducted a diagnostic test for our son in order to assess if he was dyslexic. She was very patient and reassuring and he didn’t find the session arduous or daunting. The report that we received was detailed, conclusive and professional. It was well received by his school to help channel the extra resource available to the most relevant subjects. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Sue to others who are looking for similar help.”
